We're just 3 girls who love our afternoon teas: a young mum, an entrepreneur and a little lady. We plan on reviewing all the hotels and restaurants around Dublin and Wicklow and who knows where else.

Our Review

Scones:              3star

Sandwiches:    5star

Pastries:            2star

Sabor Brazil has been in the top 10 restaurants in Dublin for years now. We been delighted many a time by their high quality food, amazing atmosphere and brilliant staff, so naturally when we heard Sabor Brazil is now serving afternoon tea, we were very excited to try.

Located on Camden street, as we walked upstairs the staff at Sabor Brazil offers a friendly welcome. The restaurant's decor is very elegant complete with beautiful chandeliers, mood lighting and complemented by old fashioned music. The excellent service continues when we are brought to our seats and presented with the Tea menu and our glasses of Prosecco. I have to say - they do have a way of making you feel quite special.

We ordered our teas from a lovely selection, and then our beautifully presented Afternoon Tea arrived. As always, we started with the sandwiches which included all of the classics with a twist. There was smoked salmon and cream cheese, at a perfect ratio, ham with whole grain mustard, also lovely, a delicious chicken, pesto and sweet corn, and two vegetarian options - the cucumber, cream cheese and dill and finally the egg mayonnaise, shallots and mustard cress which was fantastic! Although the classic sandwiches weren't the most original they tasted amazing - definitely some of the best sandwiches Afternoon Tea Girls have tried so far.

Next we moved onto the freshly baked scones (both fruit and plain, whichever you fancy). These were served with champagne strawberry preserve, lemon curd and cream. We were a little disappointed that the scones werent served warm!

Finally, we moved onto the desserts, after the amazing sandwiches we were very excited about these. Unfortunately, they were a bit of a let down. The fruit and custard tart was only alright, there was an usual glazed rum pastry served in a plastic small container - which wasn't very enticing. On a positive note, there was a wide selection with something for everyone and a number of them were quite tasty - two types of cheesecake, a pistachio ball and finally, a chocolate cube with a caramel centre for all your sweet tooths!
We asked the waiter if they made their own desserts and we were told that they make the sandwiches on site but get a local bakery to provide the scones and treats, so maybe that is where the difference in quality lies!

Sabor Brazil is one of our favourite restaurants, with amazing mouth watering food, we loved the sandwiches, the desserts could be improved, the overall experience however was lovely and we would definitely recommend.
